The Cost of Natural Gas and Your Bill
Several factors determine your monthly natural gas bill — one is the cost of the natural gas you use. As a regulated utility, New Mexico Gas Company does not make a profit on the natural gas we purchase for our customers. These costs from market suppliers are passed directly on to our customers.
Current gas price information is updated twice monthly. The current rates are available here on our website. You may also call us at 505-697-3335 (Albuquerque Metro) or toll free at 888-NM-GAS-CO (888-664-2726) for the current information. Your monthly New Mexico Gas Company bill also includes the projected natural gas charges for the following month.
- The estimated September cost of gas is $0.4536 per therm which is lower than last month’s price of $0.4939 and higher than last September’s price of $0.3213.
- The estimated average September home gas use is 17 therms. This results in an estimated September average residential gas bill of $23.00 which is higher than last September’s estimated average bill of $20.56.
