Your safety is our top concern. Please do not allow anyone into your home who claims to be from the gas company without verifying that he/she has proper identifcation as a New Mexico Gas Company employee.

New Mexico Gas Company takes extensive measures to ensure that every New Mexico Gas Company service technician is clearly identified. All New Mexico Gas Company service technicians are in uniform and all carry a photo identification badge. Finally, all of our trucks are white with the New Mexico Gas Company logo on the sides of the truck.

New Mexico Gas Company service technicians respond to calls for service or gas emergencies initiated by customers. They wouldn’t knock on your door and want inside your home unless you had called and asked for our service.

In the rare event of an actual natural gas emergency, natural gas would be shut off from outside your home or business. Residents would be informed through their local news media of such an emergency situation and when New Mexico Gas Company service technicians may need to visit their home to safely relight pilot lights.

We encourage residents to compare the photo identification card with the person who comes to their door and verify that the company name on the badge is New Mexico Gas Company before allowing any service technician into their home.
