To get help lowering your energy bill, New Mexico Gas Company works with the New Mexico Mortgage Finance Authority (MFA) to provide income-qualified customers with free installation of energy saving products that help to improve the energy efficiency of their homes and lower their utility bills.
New Mexico Gas Company sponsors the Weatherization Assistance Program, which is administered by the MFA. This program provides income-qualified New Mexico Gas Company residential gas customers with free home weatherization. Weatherization assistance can be used for a range of repairs and improvements such as:
- Proper insulation and sealing of air leaks
- Repair or replacement of broken glass
- Weather-stripping
- Thermostat controls
- Ceiling, wall and floor insulation
To qualify for the Weatherization Assistance Program:
- Annual income relative to family size must be at or below 150 percent of the federal poverty guidelines. Due to limited availability, priority is given to the lowest-income households.
- You must receive a monthly utility bill from New Mexico Gas Company for your residence.
- You must own or rent a single or multi-family home.
