The Schools Conserving Resources (SCORE)SM Pilot helps school systems improve energy efficiency and reduce operating costs. The program provides technical and financial support for the implementation of energy efficiency upgrades, and includes a combination of the following services:
- Financial Incentives for energy savings achieved from completed projects.
- Benchmarking facilities’ energy use.
- Energy Master Planning Workshops to help manage energy costs.
- Identifying cost-effective projects.
- Promoting accomplishments through communications support.
Five school systems have agreed to participate in the pilot program for 2011-2012. A successful pilot program will allow it to be offered to all school systems in the future.
