Payment Options

All of our 22 customer walk-in offices across New Mexico will reopen May 3. We want to make it easier for your to pay your natural gas bill.

To help our customers make informed decisions about how to pay, we are publicizing all payment options, including those that require a fee.

First, let’s focus on what is free. There is no charge when a customer:

  • Visits one of the 22 payment centers. To find the nearest location to you, please click here.
  • Pays by postal mail
    • P.O. Box 27885
      Albuquerque, NM 87125-7885
  • Calls us at 1-888-664-2726 and uses an electronic check (aka Automated Clearing House or ACH), which draws the funds from the customer’s checking account
  • Makes a payment using an E-check or ACH through our website (https://www.nmgco.com/Account/Login?ReturnUrl=%2FCustomerAccount%2FOneTimePayment)
  • Signs up for an online account to set up a monthly automatic withdraw
  • Signs up through their banking institution to have the funds automatically withdrawn

These payment options continue to require a fee:

  • Using a credit or debit card or an E-check to make a phone payment through Speedpay at 1-866-508-9320
  • Visiting a Western Union or Walgreens kiosk

These fees were not instituted in response to the current Coronavirus public health emergency. They have been in place since New Mexico Gas Company was formed in 2009.

The fee options are managed by third-party organizations and that’s where the fee goes, not to New Mexico Gas Company. Also, the fees are paid by customers who use the third-party transactions, rather than including them in rates that are charged to all customers.

Customers can avoid the fees by signing up for automatic withdraw or using the other free options.

We believe transparency is important in helping our customers make informed decisions about the payment method that works best for them. That’s why we are publicizing all the options.

During the current public health emergency, New Mexico Gas Company has suspended disconnections for non-payment and waived fees for late bill payments. We have waived all fees that we have the ability to waive.
