HEAT New Mexico Program

If you need help paying your winter heating bills, New Mexico Gas Company wants to help you stay warm. HEAT New Mexico is our heating assistance fund, administered by the Salvation Army.

You can apply at The Salvation Army or a HEAT NM provider, listed in this printable flyer and below. You will need to bring the following:

  • A valid ID for everyone in your household (photocopies are accepted). For adults, a photo ID, such as a driver’s license, is needed. For children, identification can include their birth certificate, immunization records, a school ID, or insurance card.
  •  A copy of your current New Mexico Gas Company bill.
  • Proof of income. We can also accept proof of LIHEAP Assistance received after October 1, 2023.

If you are unable to apply for HEAT New Mexico in person, you can designate someone to apply for you. You can download the HEAT New Mexico Third Party Authorization Form or find one at any of our walk-in business offices. Simply fill it out sign it and send it along with a copy of your ID with the person you designate when they visit a HEAT NM provider location.

If you know of someone in need who is unable to apply in person, please help them apply.
